Once a decade, an evaluation team visits every college and university in the Middle States region to evaluate its performance based on 14 Standards of Excellence established to ensure that students are being well served and experiencing the higher education they have a right to expect. Elmira College's last visit was in April of 2016.

Below are excerpts from the evaluation team's report to the Commission which resulted in the College being judged as in compliance with the Standards of Excellence and thereby being reaccredited by the Commission...

“The institution has many distinctive strengths.”
